Angie, we have so many of the sa me brushes! I'm a huge fan of the Real and IT brushes. I also like Sonja K and ELF. If I want I will treat myself to a Bobbi Brown too. I used to like the Trish McEvoy brushes back when she was at Nordies. I love that you understand what it takes to get product skillfully applied to mature skin — it's a bit of a moving target. Some days I feel like my eyelids are like a table cloth that's TOO BIG FOR THE TABLE! I'm guessing your snazzy Japanese artisan crafted squirrel brush is a Wayne Goss. I just love him. Feel free to send it to me. 😉 Thank you so much for the hard work you do on your videos and research.

can you honestly say that people of over 50 need special brushes? that sounds a little ridiculous.

I picked up the Beauty Junkees eye brushes per your recommendation and I love them! Hard to believe they are so nice for the price. I like the slightly more petite sizes of their crease brushes and blenders, as I feel I have more control. Thanks so much for the code too!

Angie, this was a great video, so informative. I went ahead and used your code for the discount on beautyjunkees brushes, got the combo set from ammy and I am so happy. I used the rounded kabuki style brush for foundation and the dual fibre brushes for my eyes today. Thanks so much for the tips. I think these are similar to morphe brushes, in fact they are softer and maybe even better price-wise!!

Since I can't get the same brands (I live in Italy) I appreciate the explanation of the shape, fullness, cut and size of the brushes so that I can find something similar. I switched to using a brush(es) for eyeshadow last year – after years of sponge-stick (or whatever that is called applicator) what a difference! It's so much easier to blend and smoke eyeshadows with a brush – looking forward to getting more for blush, bronzer, etc. THANKS ANGIE!!! Ciao, L

Question: How often do you clean your brushes? Since you use the blending brushes for blending only, do you clean them more often? Seems like they would eventually pick up whatever products you are blending. Love your videos and blog! Thanks for being there!

I like Elf brushes, It Cosmetics, Real Techniques, Zoeva, MAC, Makeup Academy, etc… The newest brushes I've recently tried, the Royal Langnickel, are also good and I am really enjoying them. it depends upon the product I am using. Hope you are well Angie. xo Donna

I cleaned all my brushes this weekend. Wow, I did not realize I have so many.  I saw a video by Martha Stewart on how to properly clean your makeup brushes and dry them.  They are an investment and I want them to last.  I have quite a few and realize that you do go for the same favorites.  I have my supply drawer with extra's because I'm afraid the ones I like will be discontinued or changed.  You know how that goes.

I'm convinced that beauty junkees has different quality control for bloggers vs regular consumers. I purchased the eye set and my brushes were very poorly cut (wonky bristles jutting out) and they shed like crazy.
    very disappointed in them

Love Wayne Goss and Chikuhodo but also really find Sigma and Sephora Pro brushes as well as Morphe to be good. You just can't beat a MAC 217!

Angie, I have had the same shedding problem with the MAC brushes I've purchased over the last two years. It's terrible, and they never stop shedding! The quality has definitely gone downhill recently because I am still using some MAC make-up brushes I purchased about 15 years ago and they are still going strong and never shedded on me. What a disappointment.

This question has nothing to do with makeup brushes but I have meaning to ask you if you're for or against the "frownies." I recently started to sleep with the frownies on my forehead and I believe it's working!

This type of video and info is so hard to find, so thank you! Literally to find a video which isnt by a youtuber pushing a brand they partner with, and is just THE BEST. Lots of stuff is focused on oily skin too or only drugstore options.

My skin isnt necessarily mature, but I am wondering if the brushes in the video would work for people like me.. I need a flat foundation and buffer brush for BB & Armani liquid foundation but I know a lot of buffer brushes inherently are rough on skin. Is there a buffer that is the "most gentle"? Also, if dry/sensitive skin – is there an amazing foundation brush that can blend sans buffer. Beautyblenders dont give the same effect. Any price point or alternative application is welcome! Many youtubers ask about this on other pages and never get answers :/ Any comments welcome 🙂

Hi Angie, I love all your videos. I'm so glad I found them. You have such great ideas and great taste. Pink is a great color on you. I don't know if you remember some years ago stylists were showing different color swatches next to a person's face and hair color to show what colors looked best on them and they were named after the seasons. You are a spring and summer, in my opinion. I am too. Pinks look absolutely lovely on you. I think you look good in all you wear though. Keep up all the good work you do for us. Love it. Hugs!

Rats. I wish I'd seen this video a year or so ago. The Beauty Junkees code has expired. It's not a huge deal, but every little bit helps. Would you mind "refreshing" the date on the code, or does it matter if it's expired? Again, it's not a huge deal if you can't or don't. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for these great brush recommendations!

I just received three sets of brushes (Beauty Junkees and Real Techniques.) Love them! Thought I would since I already love IT's foundation and powder brushes. You're right about the pencil brush being scratchy. Maybe I need to cough up some dough for Mac or Sigma. I bought 3 pencil cups at The Container Store to hold them on my vanity. Glad I subscribe, your reviews are must-see before purchasing anything makeup or skincare related. Thanks again!
