Don't even worry about covering it. It's unique, and in no way detracts from your beauty.

Someone wrote to ask me how long it takes to use up a compact of powder. I pretty much cover my birthmark every weekday, and it lasts me 2 1/2 to 3 months. It will of course, depend on how much you apply each time and how often you use it.

Thanks for making this video.  It's so informative and you make it look so simple.  Quick question regarding the make-up you use – Laura Mercier Mineral Press Powder.  You applied it with your finger and then you used a large headed brush to apply what- the same thing?  Did you use the brush with the Mineral Press Powder or was it a different product?  Also, what shade of the Mineral Press Powder did you use?

I just had a baby girl who was born two days ago with a port wine stain over her left eye into her hairline. This video was very helpful to my wife and I thank you. Can please spell the name of the brand of powder you use?

Just wanted to thank you for the video! I have a port wine stain covering 3/4 of my face and I tend to where foundation nearly everyday, but it does take an annoying amount of time to apply. I will definitely give these products a try.

I now just finally watched this video and it is super helpful! I have port wine stain covering 3/4 of my face, 1/2 of my neck, 1/2 of my chest, and 1/2 of my left arm. It's so annoying, I've been trying everything to cover it, and like you said, most of the products turns out cakey! Although, I feel a little iffy about putting any on my chest/arm though. 🙁
    Thanks for making the video!

Hey I have a port wine stain on the lower right side of my cheek, ear, and neck. I do the removal treatments and I feel like it make my face age weird. Do you notice anything like that from the birthmark or the treatment? Like I feel like that side of my face isn't as lifted or have as much collagen or idk. Not wrinkles so much as just it hangs lower than the other side…. Anyone else experience this? With or without laser treatment.

Thank you for the video!  I have a portwine stain on the right side of my forehead and down my eyelid.  I've tried several products and some are so cakey.  I was wondering how long you've found the coverage to last with the Laura Mercier mineral powder (approximately how many hours) and if/how many times you need to touch up or reapply during the day.  Thank you for sharing!

my mom has a port wine stain that covers one half of her face. if any one else has one, I don't even realize it, I'm so used to it that sometimes I forget it's there. these birthmarks are absolutely gorgeous and I hate that my mom gets so insecure about it. but she's always looking for makeup to cover it up on special occasions so I'll tell her about it thank you(:

First of all, I want to say thank you so much for making this video.  I am 22 years old and have a PWS covering the right side of my forehead into my eyelid and temple area.. and just like you I have tried almost everything to cover it up with makeup.  I have been using Bobbi Brown foundation for years but the coverage seems to fade by the end of the day. I have a few quick questions before I head to Nordstrom to make my purchase! Do you use any other concealers/foundations in your make-up routine, or do you find that any additional products are not needed? (like a liquid foundation, etc.). and Also, when I was looking on her website, Laura has the mineral pressed powder as well as the loose powder… do you have a preference? Wanted to know if you have tried the loose powder. Bobbi Brown make up is nice because it looks VERY natural even with a full face of makeup, is Laura Mercier similar? I apologize for the questions, I am just so interested because I have never found a product this impressive (from what I have seen in your video). Looks great! Thank you 🙂

I have several port wine birthmarks on my leg and I find it really hard to cover them because blending is a nightmare. Unlike if it was on my face I can't really put makeup on my whole leg so then it just looks like I've got splodges of makeup on my leg. 🙁

Are you seeing good results with the laser treatment? I have a port wine stain on the right side of my face. When I was little, I had a lot of surgeries and I stopped around age 7. I had two more treatments at age 14 and 15. My PWS is currently more of red splotches now after the surgeries. I have been considering trying laser treatments now that they have made more advances. 🙂

By the way, your makeup tutorial is great! That is awesome that you can use pressed powder. I have always used cream in the compacts or a liquid foundation with concealer. I really want to try the powder though!

This tutorial was awesome! Thanks for doing it! I use dermablend and like you said about most makeups for coverage, the concealer and foundation are both pretty thick and I hate it! When I do my eyeliner on the side with my birthmark, my hand will touch that side and it wipes off so easily. I do use a setting powder which helps it hold longer, but it still doesn't last a super long time. Probably sucks that I'm in Texas because it's super hot here so that may be another reason haha.

It's slowly going away. She's been doing some laser treatments to help with that. Doctors were concerned about seizures due its location on her head under her hair line. She now has just a small mark over her eyebrow. My wife and I admire your courage and bravery and wish you joy and peace.

I started using the powder that you are using, daily and it is working for now. These days, Im reading a these permanent cosmetic tattoos/make ups. Have you ever heard about them?

why stay out of sun, is it because it is harmful to port wine stain birthmark or because you are getting laser treatments.

I bought the Laura Mercier Powder, because your video impressed me so much. It's hard to believe that a powder can cover my birthmark as well as Dermablend, but it does, and it feels so much lighter. The problem is that when I brush on the bronzer, it brushes OFF the LM powder, and I have to reapply. And since there's nothing to set it with, it comes off very quickly. I haven't tried it outside in South Florida's summer heat and humidity, but I'm sure it will melt right off my face. Do you know of any way to prevent it coming off easily? I'm picturing myself carrying the compact everywhere I go and making numerous touchups.
